How to Lose Weight – Get The Knowledge
Here are two questions you may be familiar with. ‘Why can’t I lose weight?’ ‘Why can’t I be slim?’ When the realisation that diets don’t work dawns, it’s perfectly natural to express a feeling of frustration – even despair. Experiencing the inevitable weight gain that follows dieting saps your self-confidence and does your self-esteem a power of no good. Is there a way out of this dilemma? Yes, there is, and it’s within your power to find that way out.
We all put our trust in doctors. They are highly trained and know what they’re talking about. We trust companies that promise fast fat loss. In fact we are very free with whom we trust and what we trust, particularly when it comes to our health and diets. Is this sensible? Is our trust misplaced? No, it’s not particularly sensible and yes, our trust is often misplaced. So why do we do it? Much of it has to do with our lack of knowledge and understanding about the subject. When we don’t know what to do, or we need an explanation, we go looking for the expert or specialist who can help us out. In fact we go further than that - we give ourselves over to these people and organisations to do whatever they want. We abdicate control.
We are effectively paralyzed by our own ignorance. This may seem a little strong, but the fact is that we know very little about how we function and why we do things the way we do. Many of us probably have a better knowledge of how our car or computer works than how our own body works.
The knowledge we need to know about ourselves that will help us to lead and enjoy a slim, happy and healthy life is available to us all. You don’t need a science degree to understand it. It’s fascinating and interesting. Build up your knowledge about yourself and you’ll be able to answer the questions ‘why can’t I lose weight’ and ‘why can’t I be slim’. You’ll be able to place your trust with confidence and ask the right questions. You’ll be able to regain control.
The first section of the Slim Habit is called ‘What You Need to Know’. These are crucial facts you need to know to enable you to take control of your life and achieve permanent weight loss. When you know why things happen, you can do something about it. When you know the facts, things are easier to understand. When you understand the effect of what you do or don’t do, you can do something about it. When you realize the consequences of your behaviour, you can change your behaviour by learning new habits.
