Obesity and permanent weight loss

If you’re fat, overweight or even obese please don’t take all the blame yourself. Don’t constantly beat yourself up about how much you weigh or the fact that you find losing weight impossible. It’ll only make you unhappy. The good news is that it’s not all your fault and you can do something about it. Help is at hand!

Obesity is the curse of the modern age. Why? Because in so many countries around the world food is cheap and plentiful. We’ve successfully answered the challenge of finding enough to eat by improving our agricultural methods and by devising a vast range of new foods. The consequence is a huge and highly profitable food industry which processes tasty, tempting delights that we find difficult to resist. But are they producing the right foods? Are they good for us? Probably the fair answer is both ‘yes’ and ‘no’. We have access to inexpensive processed food, but far too many are high in saturated fat, sugar, salt and additives. These foods are one of the major causes of the obesity epidemic we’re now suffering. We’re no longer hungry, but we’re all getting too fat. We’ve effectively cured one problem and created another.

The problem is made even worse because we’ve invented amazing transport systems and comfortable cars to take us to wherever we want to go. We don’t need to, go out to gather information either: we just sit in front of a screen. There’s not physical energy involved. It’s all far too easy. We’re fed and entertained without having to move a muscle. The need for us to exercise our bodies has all but disappeared, and that’s a worry, because we were designed to be active, not sedentary. When we were developing on the evolutionary drawing board, high-calorific foods, cars, computers and televisions were not in the equation!

Ingenious beings as we are, no problem remains unaddressed for long, particularly if there’s a buck or two in it. And so The Diet was created.
In the blink of an eye, a diet industry worth billions of dollars appeared and unleashed a deluge of diets, diet programs, diet pills and potions on a trusting and unsuspecting public. Now there are hundreds of low carb, low calorie and fat loss programs, some offering instant results. There’s South Beach, Mediterranean, Cabbage Soup, Atkins, Herbalife, Jenny Craig, Sonoma, Weight Watchers and many, many more. It’s a very long list. But do they work? It would be wrong to say that you don’t lose weight on a diet, but for the majority of those who embark on a diet, diets don’t deliver what is wanted above all else, and that’s long-term, permanent weight loss.

What you eat is important. How much you eat is important. But why you eat and how you live your life is of paramount importance, and that’s what diets don’t address. In order for weight loss to be permanent – and all deliberate weight loss should be permanent – you have to change your behavior and learn new habits. This doesn’t just apply to what you eat, but to your life too. If you want to achieve long-lasting success, you have to look at the whole picture, not just a small part of it. This is what the Slim Habit will help you to do.

The Slim Habit is not a diet, but a weight loss system. It’s a system that puts you in charge. It will revolutionise your life. It will give you freedom, freedom from worrying about weight gain and a new, healthier, happier life.
